Class of 2017 Graduation
With seniors finishing their final quarter of high school on May 12, I would like to notify each of you regarding a few very important dates and events for the Class of 2017 up to and including this year’s Graduation ceremony. Please make note, and mark your calendar for these events.This year’s ceremony will occur on Saturday, May 20, 2017, at The Family Arena in St. Charles, MO. Our graduating class will process promptly at 1:55 pm, and our ceremony will begin at 2:00 pm. The Family Arena Security and Holt High School staff members will be available to assist all guests at commencement. The doors will open at 1:00 pm. No tickets are needed for entry. The Arena has specific restrictions including NO air horns, balloons or water bottles. For a more detailed list of items NOT allowed go to www.familyarena.com, venue info, prohibited items. We are very fortunate to use this air-conditioned and state-of-the-art facility.
Below are the dates and times for our seniors leading up to graduation. Again, please make sure to mark your calendar and your student’s calendar with the following date(s) and time(s).
May 9-12 Senior Final Exams (May 12-Seniors’ Last Day)
May 17 MANDATORY Graduation Practice | 9:00 am | HHS Gym
May 17 Class Panoramic Picture & BBQ (Optional) Following Practice | Soby Field
May 20 Graduation Ceremony | 2:00pm | St. Charles Family Arena
May 20 2017 Grad Night (Tickets $80) | 10:00pm-6:00am | Brunswick Zone XL, St. Peters MO
The completed Commencement Participation Form is mandatory before participation is allowed per Board Policy. Participation is not mandatory, but a privilege, therefore policy will be followed. If your student is not participating in the ceremony, please inform Denise Fletcher as soon as possible. The graduate’s diploma may be picked up in the Principal’s office after May 30.
A Senior Exit Survey (attached and available in the Main Office), which is also mandatory, should be completed and returned to Mrs. Litzsinger. This completed form serves as the request for a final transcript. No other transcript request will be necessary. All school property must be returned and any outstanding fines or school debts paid prior to receiving any graduation information, awards or medals (if applicable) and cap & gown. Parents may check on any fines or fees with the Financial Secretary, Donna Paterson, at 636-327-3876, ext. 26247. Fines and fees must be paid in cash or money order from now until the end of school.
It is imperative that our graduating students finish their final year, which includes the week prior to the graduation ceremony, in a positive and safe manner. Activities such as pranks will be dealt with according to school district policies and law enforcement. Students participating in any such activities risk non-involvement in graduation events.
