February 16, 2017 - Julie Lembke, MCTE New Teacher Award

This evening we are honoring Julie Lembke, a kindergarten teacher at Duello Elementary for having been named an Outstanding Beginning Teacher by the Missouri Association of Colleges for Teacher Education (MACTE).

Every two years, the MACTE accepts nominations for the awards. Lembke was nominated by Missouri Baptist University. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Lindenwood University and a Master of Arts in Teaching from Missouri Baptist University in 2016. Lembke completed her student teaching at Crossroads Elementary in the 2015-16 school year, and is currently in her first year of teaching at Duello Elementary.

Lembke is among 54 teachers in Missouri to receive the award and she will officially receive during the MACTE Spring Conference on March 29 in Columbia.

Julie says the award is a tremendous honor to receive and that she owes her success as a first year teacher to the wonderful training she has received through Missouri Baptist and the Wentzville School District. She added that she feels truly blessed to have the opportunity to teach among the talented and dedicated educators employed by the WSD. Well we are very proud of you Julie…Congratulations!
