Science and Engineering Fair

Congratulations to Senior Connor Monahan who recently traveled to the University of Missouri in Columbia to compete in the state level Junior Science, Engineering and Humanities Symposium (JSHS). Connor was awarded first place in the Physical Science category and was also selected as the overall first place winner of the symposium for his project, “Predicting the Presence of Cancer in Medical Images using Convolutional Neural Networks.” Connor received a $2,000 scholarship from the Academy of Applied Science and will now advance to the national JSHS competition held in San Diego next month.
