    Wentzville R-IV School District
    Closing Procedures

The Wentzville School District will announce school closing and early dismissal information through the following media outlets:

    KWRE Radio (730 AM)
    KFAV Radio (99.9 FM)
    KMOX Radio (1120 AM)
    KTVI-TV Channel 2
    KMOV-TV Channel 4
    KSDK-TV Channel 5

Standard practice is to reach a school closing decision by 5 a.m. However, understand that weather conditions may change rapidly in the early morning hours, which could cause a decision to be delayed until a later time. When an announcement is made that Wentzville R-IV Schools will be closed due to inclement weather, this means all schools in the District will be closed for that day. Unless weather conditions are severe, announcements regarding school closings for the next school day will typically be made during the early morning hours for that day. It is practice for our District not to dismiss school on the basis of a weather forecast, but on actual conditions.

Should Wentzville Public Schools experience an actual inclement weather event, Wentzville e-News subscribers will receive an email closing alert message informing them that schools are closed.

When the decision is made to close schools, a Wentzville administrator immediately calls the media outlets. Wentzville e-News will be the fastest and earliest announcement to the public if schools are closed due to weather or for any other emergency event.. Please tell friends and neighbors to join the Wentzville e-News family for weekly reports on school news, early warnings of school closings, and news alerts.
