"Learning and growing together"
The Barfield Early Childhood Center is an integrated preschool in which children with disabilities participate in classes with their typically developing peers. We believe that all children benefit when educated in an inclusive environment, regardless of their ability. It is through these interactions that children learn to accept differences, but more importantly, learn to recognize and appreciate similarities. We believe in the promise of early intervention.
Our program is predicated upon the belief that early identification and intervention will help children and their families. The Barfield Early Childhood Center offers a full range of early intervention services to help children with disabilities develop to their fullest potential and prepare for greater success when they start Kindergarten at age 5.
Children ages 3 through 5 with a significant delay or disability are eligible for services. A wide range of intervention services are available for eligible children, including center-based classroom instruction and therapies for children with speech and motor delays.
Services are free of charge for eligible children. Children that are not eligible for special education services may attend the Barfield Early Childhood Center on a tuition basis. For more information, please contact Connie or JoAnn at 636-561-5757
